192. The Mentor
A young man, Sam Gilula, arrives at Frank and Marie's and everyone is surprised when he and Frank fondly embrace. Sam explains Frank had been quite an inspiration to him as a lad, a mentor in fact, much to Ray and Robert's disbelief. Later, Ray and Robert make fun of Frank, wondering how he could have inspired anyone.

Two words... Holy Crap!

This episode seems like it will be weird abd also kind of out of character.
Also, is one of these new episodes the finale or something because I mean its April already how many more new eps could their possibly be?

Yah this is episode #22. They normally do like 24 a season, right?
I believe one we haven't had the description for yet is "Debra on Vacation". You know this could potentiailly be a flashback.

I hope Debra on Vacation is about her going away by herself somewhere.
She needs to get away from the family and think things through. If that happens, I bet it will have a happy, mushy, ending. (darn)

>> I hope Debra on Vacation is about her going away by herself somewhere.
What would be the point of an episode with Debra by herself?
Unless she's.... well, nevermind.

well, since you did not finish the thought, let me finish it for you.
I would like to see some action towards a finale next year and a spin off series as well.
There are a lot of things that could happen with Debra on vacation. Ray goes off by himself and there have been episodes about that.
It could be that she goes off to visit mom and/or dad or maybe her sister in Africa. Maybe the show will not be about her, just about her being gone.
Or maybe she will meet a handsome stranger (me LOL) and start to wonder what life would be like with someone else. There are all kinds of possibilities.

I don't think they would have Debra going on vacation by herself-its a 30 minute comedy with 5 main characters, and the episodes you are describing sound more like they would fit into a full hour drama show. Thats just my opionion.

Dave, I don't think the laws of Physics would ever permit teleportation of human beings inside the inanimate universe of television sitcoms. With regard to Patty, all indications are that she's a very happily married woman and devoted to her family.
Besides, if bickering wackos like Marie and Frank can stay married for their whole life, I see no reason why Ray and Deb can't.

I like how Dan's dirty mind some how gets turned into a very special episode of Everybody Loves Debra in Africa where fictional and real people mingle together in some weird alternate universe....

Admit it Sam, CBS' ratings would go through the roof if they did my idea.

There wouldn't be a CBS anymore if they did your idea, with the way the FCC has been as of late. Conservatives are ruining all your fun.

It may very well sink the porno industry.

To Smelly: Sorry. I do not understand your comments at all. I am stupid.
As for the rest: To say that Deb is a happily married woman is incredible to me.
They have been to counseling, she has hit Ray on more than one occassion and on more than one occassion, she has admitted being sorry she picked him, said she was gonna leave him "eventually" and even said she had picked "the wrong man".
Plus Ray has shown incedible insensitivity to her, openly embarassed her and generally made her life miserable.
What do you mean happily married?

Man, you REALLY can't distinguish between Patty and Debra, can you?
I don't recall anyone here saying Debra is happily married.
Nonetheless, if the message you get from watching ELR is that they are unhappily married and should divorce, I really think you are missing the humor of the show.

Sorry. did not notice that patty was mentioned instead of Debra. Not sure why Patty was mentioned but anyway... my bad.
All though, 50% of marriages in this country wind up divorced. Even "happy ones". And more so probably in Hollywood.
