Wow it was so unmemorable I need to look up the episode guide to remember. One second... Back. Oh, the Party Dress ep. Basically Ally says she got invited to Molly's 'very formal' birthday party, which will be at a country club and everyone attending needs to buy a special dress. Go to the store and mention Peggy's name for a 10% discount. Ray is obviously disgusted. When they go into the store they find out that the dress is $250! WITH the 10% discount! Ray starts making a big fuss and talks with another father there buying the dress also... saying its outrageous, they should form a petition, etc. Suddenly Peggy comes out of the dressing room and lays some verbal abuse on Ray. Of course, the other father pussies out and dissapears, while Ray ultimately refuses to buy the dress. When they get back home, Ally runs upstairs and slams the door shut. Deb of course is wondering what happened, and she sides with Ally because she wouldn't want Ally to be the only one at the party without the dress. Robbie and Amy show up (yay....  ), and Deb tries to get them to side with her. At first they agree, until Ray points out the dress was $250 and they both stand there in utter shock. The whole family is against Deb, so she says 'alright.... then we'll just tell Ally we can't buy it' which they do. SHe's still upset though, so Ray goes to her bedroom tot alk to her privately, and at they end they make up but Ray shows her that he had bought her the dress anyway cause she's a good kid and piss poop fart are you really still reading this Sam? ;D Then, at the end they go to hte party but Ally is the only one wearing the dress! Apparently the other father that Ray suggested they petition against Peggy actually went through with it, forcing Peggy to drop the attire requirements. Ally runs out of the party screaming "I hate you" to Ray. And there you go. |

I usually don't like ELR episodes about the kids, but for some reason I really liked this episode. I thought it was sweet, funny and well written. The bedroom scene between Ray and Ally just before the final interval was quite touching and had me almost... May be I'm being a tad melodramalucus.  Grade: A- |
