So, that concludes Season 8. Like the notorious S7, there were two gems this year (Liars, Blabbermouths) but the rest were fairly mediocre. Can't wait for Season 9.

If I had never seen this show before, and this was the first episode I ever saw, I would never watch this show again. Ever. This episode was horrendous. I don't even know where to begin. Maybe with the horrible storyline and what the episode was about?...or how about with the lack of originality with many of the lines were making me think I was watching a repeat (not in a good way, meaning that the same lines were used before)...or how about with the fact that at least half of the episode revolved in the van?...finally how about the fact that having wooden shelving for a laundry shelf makes no sense? Blooper to point out: Before finding out that the shelving is for Lee and Stan, Marie says that is is a laundry shelf. Why would Lee and Stan see their laundry shelf? Definately the worst season finale. Ever. Is there potential for next year?

Is there potential for next year? I wouldn't bet on it. That finale was just atrocious. Look, I am an ELR fan like all of you guys, but its silly to want them to keep doing more 24 ep seasons just so we can get 1 or 2 decent or above average ones.

First of all, I missed the first 5 minutes of the show because it was pre-empted by a severe weather update report. I'm conflicted about tonight's episode. It could've been worse. Considering the high standard that we have all come to expect from ELR season finales, this was a major disappointment. No argument there. The worst finale ever. You know, I'd a bad feeling about it after reading all those glowing reviews. The critics seemed to have liked it which is always a bad omen in my book. And, whose "brilliant" idea was it to have nearly 3/4 of the show take place inside a minivan? Grade: C+ Thus sadly concludes S8 of ELR on a disappointing note. I guess the frustrating thing about it all is I thought this season really had the potential to erase the bad taste left from last season. It got off to a promising start with a couple of VG episodes which gave the impression, to me at least, that may be the nightmare that was S7 was a fluke after all and everything was perfect again in Raymondland. Alas, that was not to be the case. In retrospect, S8 was definitely better than S7 with 9-12 VG episodes (and 4-5 REALLY bad ones), but that's not saying much considering how consistently outstanding episodes were from seasons 2-6. Too bad, it wrapped up with a forgettable episode. It's gonna be one long summer... See y'all in September.

Can't say I disagree with ya, yups. As much as we all love more ELR, I don't think its worth it to endure a season just to get 2 or 3 good eps. Heck, if you combined the best of S7 and S8, you STILL wouldn't have anything comparable to what was found in S5. Should've stopped at S6, I'm telling ya.

Sorry to hear about your sickness. Hopefully you're feeling much better now. Because we didn't hear from you for almost a week, I was about to start a "Has Sam been abducted by the aliens?" thread... ;D

Sorry, I liked the finale. And I liked Season 8 on balance. (Peter On The Couch and The Bird not withstanding). And the last ep had very good ratings so I guess I win! .Can't wait for Season 9. I think the last ep proved that there are still good stories to write.
