Okay, I guess we haven't talked much about the impending Season 9 because well, S8 was pretty much mediocre. Still, I'm sure we all have certain expectations for what should be in the 16 episode final season. What do you have in mind? One route I HOPE it doesn't go down is by pretending that nothing is happening and that it will just close out the show like it was any regular affair (like ahem, Golf for it was intended to be). I think it would be interesting if the first few episodes laid a certain theme or idea that was carried across the season (though not something huge like the Deb/Marie fight). Oh yea... it'd also be great if it didn't SUCK BALLS like S7 and S8!

Well, I don't have particular stories or plots in mind that I want them to cover this upcoming season. I just want there to be funny and memorable 16 or whatever number of episodes they're planning to make next season. I agree with your point that the final episode must be a meaningful one (unlike the crappy GFI which nearly became one) that properly wraps up the series giving a sense of satisfactory closure. The series finale of "Cheers" comes to mind. I'm not very high on following a particular theme or carrying stories from one episode to next, the exception being the last 3 episodes of S6. I think we all agree that season 7, which was pretty much dominated by episodes involving Robert and Amy's relationship , was an unmitigated disaster. Just my 2c.

Keep it like season 5. More episodes that are just on random topics, and not week to week plots that make you wonder whats going to happen next. I'll watch my dramas for that. For ELR, being a comedy, I like light, random topic episodes.

I hope that there is a build up to the finale for most of if not all of the season. I hope the end is a two parter or three parter or a two hour special. And I hope it leads to someone moving away. Preferably Ray and Deb but Frank and Marie moving to Florida would be OK too! I personally want to see a spin off series. So a breakup would be ok with me. I love PH!
