Everybody enjoy the freedom and liberty that we have here and treasure it as very precious.
There are those in the world who hate us and what to take away that freedom. Depending upon who wins the next election, that freedom could be jeopardized very soon.
Thank God for America and the people that fought and died for her!

Nice link, D. Happy 4th to the gang from me as well. I don't think the Islamic terrorists are engaged in their evil campaign against us because "they want to take our freedom away from us." Yes, they do hate us, but it's not because we're freedom loving people and they are not. That's way too simplistic and naive an explanation. Unless and until we pursue a balanced foreign policy in the middle east and work to resolve the Israel v Palestine conflict (which is the primary source of Arab grievance towards us), radicals like OBL and his type will always emerge in that part of the world to threaten the security of America.

yupi! the only person being naive is you! do you really think these terrorists sit around in their caves thinking about the israeli and palestinian conflict? no! they eat anti-america cereal for breakfast and spend their day thinking about ways to kill americans because they hate freedom! they wish they had what we had and that is why they are very, very jealous to the point that they would commit suicide!

I agree with yupi. Seriously, I cringe everytime when I hear people say the horrible events of 9-11 took place because the Al-Qaeda terrorists "hate our freedom." If that's the reason, why did they attack NYC and Washington DC but not London, Paris, Berlin or other european cities on that fateful day? I'm sure our friends across the Atlantic love freedom as much as we do in this country. So the question is why us? Why did they specifically target American cities?

It is not complicated. these people hate us for who we are. To make them like us, we wuld have to change who we are and be a totally different people.
They think we are Satan. They think we are evil, period. No amount of appeasaement or love will change their attitude about us.
We did not provoke them. they attacked us! Period.
Politics is no reason to attack innocent civilians. they of course, would say that none of us are innocent. Because they say that we are our government. and to a certain extent, they are correct.
So unless we would to change everything about who we are as a people, we better wake up to the threat and treat it as seriously as we possibly can and not depend on the UN or anyone else to help protect us.
After all, no one "protected us " from 9/11 did they?
May God help us all!

I don't want to get all Fahrenheit 9-11 on you folks ........ PLease do. I'd like to know what you thought about the "documentary".

By your use of quotations around the word documentary, I assume you're in the camp that feels Micheal Moore is a biased liberal who uses half truths and twists facts around to fit his ultimate goal/agenda. I could be wrong though, but I have noticed that people are very polarized in thier views of Moore. You either worship the guy, or you think he may in fact be satan.
Honestly, I haven't seen Fahrenheit 9-11 yet and I probably wont see it till it hits video. I am not the type to see a documentary in the theaters. But, I can say I do think Michael Moore makes great movies. Bowling for Columbine is a movie that I still think about from time to time. I can also say that I am a fairly liberal girl and will probably like the movie when I do see it.

I can assume that you are all in favor of freedom. I assume all of you are pro choice for example. What do you think is the first thing this RELIGIOUS FANATICS hate about America? if you do not know, ask a muslim friend of yours what Islam teaches about abortion. That is the first thing these riligious fanatics want stopped. Are you willing to change this country to take away that freedom? if you are not then you better be willing to fight these people to the death. Cause that is what they want and they are willing to die for it. We had better be too! So if you want to wimp out, then you have no real core beliefs. You have nothing worth dying for then you have nothing to live for either! And you better be willing to take the fight to them.

davej- please correct me if I am wrong but I thought you were a staunch pro-lifer and that was one of the reasons behind your strong support and admiration for Ms. Heaton (nothing wrong with that). If you are a pro-lifer, then why are you excoriating the Islamists for wanting to outlaw abortion? Also, if the Christian fundamentalists have their way, would they not try to outlaw abortion in this country? It seems to me that when it comes to the issue of abortion, there’s no discernible difference between the Christian right and the Islamists. OR, did you mean to say you are a pro-lifer but you’re completely content with the status quo as represented by Roe V Wade ? I'm terribly confused.

Sorry, I didn't mean to use that "WTF" smiley. I was trying to use a "sad" smiley but apparently "WTF" smiley is the substitute for the sad smiley here. My apologies again.

I am making the point as to why these people are attacking us.
They are RELIGIOUS fanatics. Islam hates choice!
The only way you can get them to stop attacking us is to give up the freedom of women to choose and to conform, to everything that Islam teaches. That is the Plain Truth.
Are you willing to fight for the right to choose or not?
If you are not, surrender now and stop the lip service.
If you are, you better support the war effort that Bush is fighting. It is all part of the same war. If we do nothing, they will kill as many of us as they can.

davej is totally right! there can be no negotiation with these terrorist thugs and evildoers who would want to destroy our freedom and enslave our women and children like they do in there countries! these ppl wont be satisfied until we live and behave exactly like them! do you ppl think islam would let you enjoy everybody loves raymond? no! in fact, i can guarantee that these babarians hate raymond because they don't like the concept of bewtiful, independent minded woman like debrah having a strong role in their twisted society! they hate our culture and way of life maybe even more than urhash hates season eight! dave has the right idea! it does not take a genius to figure this out... it's either fight them or be ready to live like them! you can't appease these ppl! if you want to be free, you must wipe out those that would kill you, and if need be you must be ready to boomb them back to the stone age where they really belong!!
